Children's Art Workshop-2008 Information

For Ages 5-14 Saturday, May 30, 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, at the Health & Justice Building, 151 S. University Ave. Provo $10 per person per class PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY MAY 25th.

Nola deJong SullivanWATERCOLOR:
Ages: 8-14
Instructor: Nola deJong Sullivan - has worked in all media but she loves watercolor. She has taught watercolor in New York, California and Utah for many years.
Class: Teaching Wet-on-wet method.


Verdie TaggartENCAUSTIC (melted wax):
Ages: 5-14
Instructor: Verdie Taggart - Discovered a talent for working with 'Encaustic', one of the oldest painting methods, which uses melted wax. She teaches classes in the subject to people of all ages.
Class: This beautiful technique is one of the oldest painting methods using colored melted wax.

CARTOONING:
Ages: 8-14
Instructor: Joe Flores - an accomplished illustrator, puppeteer, and mime. Has taught childrens art in community school programs and private schools.
His work is seen in magazines, books, and many other venues.
Class: Basic instruction in drawing cartoons and creating characters

Lillian AguayoOIL PAINTING:
Ages: 5-14
Instructor: Lillian Aguayo (bilingual) - From Chile, she graduated from The University of Concepcion, Chile in 1986. She has a master's degree as a teacher in Arts for high schools. Lilian worked in south of Chile in a special art school (artistic expressions) for 9 years, and she taught ceramics and other artistic techniques in Cuenca, Ecuador for 5 years. She has taught children her methods and looks forward to getting students excited about this medium.
Class: Come get excited about this medium as you explore the art of oil painting.

Pat ChuiPORTRAITURE:
Ages: 8-14
Instructor: Pat Chiu - Creates portraits in many media, including oil, watercolor, stained glass, pastel and pencil. She has taught in schools and privately.
Class: Learn the basics of creating a good likeness of your subject


Teri Bylund's StudentABSTRACT & TEXTURE:
Ages: 5-14
Instructor: Teri Bylund - An experienced artist with background in multi-media, pencil drawings, ink renderings, acrylic, air brush and sculpture.
Class: Experience the fun of creating lines of colors using interesting utensils to make impressions and create texture. Also offered for more advanced students, "Paint Like the Masters"...using famous works of arts for reference material.
